This is a 3 ½ years programme, recognized by the Government of Karnataka and approved by the INC & KNC. Theory classes, practical demonstration, clinical postings and field visits are included in the syllabus. Students need to complete 6 months internship to fulfill the course requirements.
Age limit for Admission
Minimum age for admission will be 17 years (as on 31st December of that year) The upper age limit is 35 yrs. For ANM/for LHV, there is no age bar.
Educational qualification
The candidate should have passed HSC / 10th, +2 any subject or vocational nursing group, with 40% and above marks from any Recognized Board. However Science is preferable.
Commencement & Duration of the course
The GNM course commences on 1st August. The duration of the study shall extend over a period of three academic years.
Candidates are also eligible from State Open School recognized by state Government and National Institute of open school (NIOS) recognized by Central Government.
For foreign Nationals: The entry qualification equivalency i.e 12thstandard will be obtained by Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi. Institution, State Nursing Council will be responsible to ensure that the qualification and eligibility will be equivalent to what has been prescribed as above.
